The village, with its unspoilt qualities, is a frequent film set for period productions and has a fabulous pub, The Lord Crewe Arms, dating back to the 12th Century which was voted Inn of the year for 2018 by the Good Pub Guide. This is where the Jacobite rebellion leader General Tom Foster hid inside the Inn's great fireplace in 1715. Also found here are the locally famous White Monk Tea Rooms and village shop.
